branding irons, aprons, tools, groomsman gifts, father’s gifts etc.

I need ideas for a great groomsman gift that is not a flask, cufflinks or other tried and true items. I need something unique and different yet usable. Any Ideas?

This sounds dumb, but if a gift is peronalized, do you put on there your initials or the groomsman’s initials? Like a flask that you can put initials on it. And where do you suggest getting them from?

We are having a hard time finding affordable gifts that are not related to alcohol (i.e. flask, beer stein). Due to one of the groomsman having an addiction problem, we feel it’s obviously best not to give him anything like that. Any suggestions, or where to find it?

Something that’s not as cliche as a flask, watch, etc.. Wedding is in October if that is a factor.

I have 4 groomsman who are all from my family. I wanted to be somewhat original with a groomsman’s gift (i.e. no flask or engraved beer mug). Do you think that this would make a good gift that someone would appreciate? I can’t afford more than $60 per gift as money is a little tight.. One of the groomsmen is my father (he cooks a little). The other 3 are my brothers, but my youngest is a sophomore in college - I’m just worried he won’t really appreciate it. I know a good knife is something that I would use on a regular basis just cutting up veggies and meat for a simple dinner I actually just found a great deal on a German chef’s knife that I think will do the trick - although i was looking for something super guy-cool but everything was well over my price range… I know at least 3 of the 4 will appreciate the gift. The other will have to grow into it ;) Oh, and I was originally thinking this knife: http://japan-blades.com/chef-knives/354.html but it seemed a little plain and probably too cheap to be any good… And this site, for future reference, has some pretty sweet looking cutlery: http://www.japanesechefsknife.com
